KINGSTON, Jamaica, Oct 23, CMC – Defending champions Mount Pleasant FC booked their spot in the final of the Caribbean Cup with a dominant 2-0 win over Club Sando FC in their second semifinal leg here at Sabina Park on Thursday.
Having drawn the first leg 1-1, second half goals from Warner Brown and Nickalia Fuller gave the Jamaican outfit a 3-1 aggregate lead over their T&T-based opponents and also secured their place in next year’s CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Despite the loss, Club Sando can still qualify for the Concacaf Champions Cup first round if they win their third-placed playoff game.
Mount Pleasant should have opened the scoring in the first half, but Trayvone Reid had his penalty kick saved by Sando’s goalkeeper Teshorne Ragoo in the 36th minute after Kyle Ming was brought down in the box.
The home side eventually broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, when Brown received a pass from Reid at the top of the box before hitting a right-footed shot to the bottom-right corner.
Sando should have hit back three minutes later after Mount Pleasant goalkeeper Shaquan Davis made a total mess of what should have been a routine save from Daniel David’s low cross from the right, but Luke Phillip failed to hit the target from close range.
It was a missed opportunity they would live to regret, as Fuller rounded out the victory for the defending champions in the fourth minute of added time after receiving a ball in space down the left before cutting in and striking with a finish to the bottom-left corner.
Mt. Pleasant will now play in the 2026 Caribbean Cup final on December 1 and 5 against the winner of the semifinal between Violette AC and Portmore United.
