ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov 5, CMC – Amir Jangoo, Matthew Forde and John Campbell have been rewarded for their impressive performances this year with Cricket West Indies (CWI) international contracts for the period 2026-2027 season.

However, Alick Athanaze, Romario Shepherd and Brandon King have lost out on their contracts and are not among the 15 contacted men’s players announced by CWI on Thursday.

The contracts run from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.

Forde, a fast bowling all-rounder, earned his contract after taking more powerplay wickets than any other West Indies bowler in both white-ball formats over the past year: 10 in T20Is and six in ODIs, while wicketkeeper-batter Jangoo made 233 against Sri Lanka in Antigua in June, and his stand of 401 with Roston Chase set a new world record for the sixth wicket in Tests.

"Matthew, Amir and Mandy have earned their places in that work, and John has earned his way back.”

Meanwhile, Campbell has earned his first international contract since 2019, following a consistent year that saw him score a maiden Test century and also brought a return to the ODI side after six years, which he marked with 101 from 68 balls against India in Guwahati in September.

However, Athanaze, Shepherd and King have not been included following sub-par performances in all formats.

Test captain Roston Chase, his deputy Jomel Warrican and Keacy Carty, enter the final year of two-year contracts.

Jewel Andrew, Ackeem Auguste and Vitel Lawes have been awarded development contracts.

Among the 15 West Indies Women international contracts, Mandy Mangru has received her first international retainer contract, while Deandra Dottin and Chinelle Henry enter the final year of two-year contracts.

CWI’s Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe said with the contracts out of the way, both the men’s and women’s teams had their sights set on qualifying for the respective ODI World Cups.

“Every one of these contracts is tied to a job in front of us.

“For the men, the first job is the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in February, and we go there with every intention of making it through. For the women, it is the Pakistan ODIs in December, which give us the chance to own automatic qualification for the next ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup,” Campbell said.

“Matthew, Amir and Mandy have earned their places in that work, and John has earned his way back.”

CWI maintained that players not on international contracts still remain eligible for selection for all West Indies teams.

CWI said it will announce the 2026–27 CWI Men’s Academy cohort and the regional women’s contracts separately.
