Shai Hope has been nominated for the ICC's Player of the Month award for October

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Nov 5, CMC – West Indies white-ball captain Shai Hope is predictably among the trio nominated by the ICC for their Player of the Month award for October.

Hope, along with South Africa’s Marco Jansen and Arafat Minhas of Pakistan, were announced as nominees by the ICC on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Hope delivered spectacular performances in both the recently concluded One Day International and T20I series against India last month.

After scoring just 12 in the ODI opener, Hope rebounded by scoring 104 in the second match, which helped the West Indies post their highest ever ODI score of 405 for seven.

He then scored an unbeaten 162 in the third and final match to lead his team to its highest-ever successful ODI run chase of 352 for five.

Hope carried that momentum into the five-match T20I series, registering two centuries, including an unbeaten 102 off 50 deliveries in the fourth match.

His remarkable consistency saw him finish the T20I series with 261 runs at a staggering strike rate of 190.51.

Meanwhile, Jansen delivered a series-defining performance against Australia, making valuable contributions with both bat and ball across the three ICC World Test Championship fixtures to help the Proteas clinch the series 2-1.

His standout effort came in the second Test at Gqeberha, where he scored 85 and claimed six wickets to help South Africa secure an innings and 31-run victory.

He followed it up with another half-century and three wickets in the series-deciding third Test as South Africa completed a turnaround in the series.

Minhas emerged as one of Pakistan’s standout performers in their home ODI tri-series triumph over England, producing impactful performances with both bat and ball.

He starred against England with a crucial 59 before returning figures of 6-40, the second-best ODI bowling figures by a Pakistan bowler on home soil.

The all-rounder continued his fine form in the final against Sri Lanka, smashing 61 off just 31 deliveries to help Pakistan chase down 326 and lift the trophy.

His contributions throughout the tournament earned him the Player of the Series award.
