ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Oct 21, CMC – Caribbean cricket received another boost earlier this week as three West Indies stars made significant strides in the latest ICC Men’s T20I rankings, released on October 21.
The upward movement comes on the heels of the West Indies’ recently concluded T20I series against India, where several players showcased their prowess on the international stage.
Headlining the charge is wicketkeeper-batsman Shai Hope, who has climbed two places to secure the No. 9 spot among batters.
Hope’s consistency at the top of the order continues to cement his status as one of the premier batsmen in the shortest format.
Joining him in the top 20 is explosive middle-order hitter Sherfane Rutherford. Rutherford has made a massive leap, jumping six places to land at No. 18 among batters.
His rise reflects a series of impactful performances that have caught the attention of the cricketing world.
On the bowling front, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie has been rewarded for his economical and wicket-taking displays.
Motie surged ten places in the rankings to claim the No. 26 position among bowlers.
The trio’s advancement highlights the depth and talent within the West Indies squad as they continue to build momentum in the T20 format.
