PARAMARIBO, Suriname, Feb 11, CMC – Police say a 53-year-old man, who is suspected to have killed his ex-partner by deliberately running over with his vehicle, died Tuesday night after consuming a pesticide.
They said that the woman, identified as 43-year-old, Aartie L., succumbed at the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZ) to the serious injuries sustained in the incident that had occurred Monday evening in the yard of her home.
Preliminary investigation reveals that following an altercation, the man, Radjesh S., drove his vehicle against the woman, pinning her against a wall.
According to statements from the victim’s 16-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son, there had been ongoing abuse in the relationship for some time and that although the relationship had ended, the contact remained.
On the evening in question, both parties reportedly consumed alcohol and an argument broke out, presumably over a television. The children witnessed the incident.
Radjesh S. was found near his home Tuesday afternoon after ingesting a pesticide.
