PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Apr. 19, CMC – The Ministry of Defence has activated a national security response following the killing of a municipal police officer at the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, as the country grapples with growing concern over crime and public safety.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that the officer was killed in the line of duty and said the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force has moved to an “elevated operational posture” to support ongoing investigations.
