The genesis of the alliance came about during a gathering of several denominational leaders and Christian organizations to host a National Miracle Healing Service & National Blessing, in response to the sense of fear and apprehension resulting from the current state of affairs economically and socially in Barbados.
There was a strong consensus that there is a need for spiritual renewal and awakening to restore the faith of Barbadians and engender a sense of hope and well-being. These leaders became acutely aware that this need was bigger than any single group of people and that this nation was at a critical juncture that demanded the strength of the unified Church.
NACCO provides a cohesive platform for the entire national Christian community to host national events that will assist in confronting the challenges facing Barbados, while transforming the lives of its citizens and the spiritual climate in the nation through the message of Jesus Christ.
Efforts are being made to contact all Christian ministries, churches, denominations and organizations to unite as partners with NACCO. Contact can also be made with the secretariat at 829-4700.
The first main event will be the gathering of the national Christian community for the above mentioned National Miracle Healing Service and National Blessing, which will feature international evangelist Rev. Benny Hinn to be hosted at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, Wildey, St. Michael on June 21st & 22nd, 2014, beginning at 5pm each evening.
Reverend Ferdinand Nicholls, a member minister of NACCO and chairman of the planning committee indicated that the leaders and members of the national church were looking forward to welcoming Hinn’s ministry, evidenced by miracles.
The evangelist’s visit will be a fulfillment of a promise he made during a brief and hurriedly scheduled trip to Barbados last April to meet with church leaders and partners on the island. That trip was made possible by Rev Sammy-Guilarte, Senior Pastor of the Living Word Christian Centre, Trinidad, whose wife, Margaret, a Barbadian, extended the invitation to the international minister to visit her home country Barbados. Pastor Hinn agreed and requested of Rev. Sammy-Guilarte to “make it happen”.
Rev. Sammy-Guilarte’s church is contributing financially and otherwise to the success of this event while he is personally assisting the local planning committee with preparations, having already made several visits to the island.
