KINGSTOWN, Jamaica, Apr 26, CMC – A critical omission in court documents has led to the dismissal of a murder case against Nolies Bullock, who was accused of killing his 33-year-old son, Shimron Bullock, during a domestic dispute in Granville, St James.
The case stemmed from a confrontation on September 29, 2025, when father and son reportedly clashed over a house key. The argument escalated, ending in tragedy as Shimron was fatally attacked with a machete.
Last Wednesday, the St James Parish Court discharged Nolies after defence attorney Chumu Paris highlighted a major flaw in the prosecution’s committal bundle. The alleged confession statement, which prosecutors claimed existed, was missing from the official documents.
“There was nothing in the bundle to prove a murder was committed,” Paris told the court.
With the confession absent, the prosecution was left without sufficient material to proceed. The judge ultimately dismissed the matter for want of prosecution, bringing the case to a close without a full trial or determination of guilt.
As a result, Nolies Bullock was formally discharged, walking free from the courtroom.
