LONDON, Oct 29, CMC – The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) and global tourism and technology solutions provider ICF will bring together senior regional tourism leaders in London on November 5 to discuss the Caribbean’s competitiveness in the United Kingdom and European travel markets.

The invitation-only executive roundtable, called the CTO-ICF Tourism Visionaries Circle, will take place during World Travel Market London under the theme “What Does Europe Want Next? Reimagining the Caribbean for the Conscious Traveller”.

The discussions will focus on changing traveller expectations and how sustainable and regenerative tourism can strengthen the region’s market position while delivering lasting benefits to local communities.

CTO Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer Dona Regis-Prosper said the Caribbean had an opportunity to strengthen its European market presence by building on the region’s distinctive natural and cultural assets while responding to evolving traveller preferences.

“Through this collaboration with ICF, we want to encourage meaningful dialogue that translates ideas into practical approaches for boosting our competitiveness, supporting our communities and advancing a more sustainable tourism future,” she said.

The roundtable will examine the expectations of European travellers and opportunities for Caribbean destinations to strengthen their appeal, resilience and long-term competitiveness.

An “Honest Truths” segment will allow participants to share anonymous perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing Caribbean tourism, including operational and policy concerns across the region.

ICF Head of Tourism Nikolaos Gkolfinopoulos said sustainability should be viewed as a competitive advantage as Caribbean destinations seek to strengthen their position in the European market.

“The opportunity now is to translate them into distinctive experiences, stronger market positioning and lasting value for destinations,” he said, referring to the region’s natural and cultural assets.

Regis-Prosper will deliver opening remarks, with Narendra Ramgulam, CTO’s deputy director of sustainable tourism, and ICF representatives also contributing to the discussion.

The roundtable will run from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. aboard the Sunborn London Yacht Hotel at Royal Victoria Dock, near ExCeL London, where the travel trade event is being held. An insights and networking luncheon will follow.

The CTO and ICF plan to prepare a conclusions paper after the event, outlining key findings, shared priorities, outstanding challenges and recommendations to inform future tourism strategies across the Caribbean.

The initiative is intended to encourage regional tourism leadership and innovation while balancing destination competitiveness with environmental protection, cultural preservation and community well-being.
