PUNTA CANA, Dominica Republic, Oct 19, CMC – Concacaf has announced the postponement of the 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup semifinal second-leg match between Haiti’s Violette AC and Jamaica’s Portmore United, originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 20.

The match is now expected to be played during the week of October 26, with the new date, kickoff time, and venue still to be confirmed. Concacaf said further details would be provided in due course.

The return leg had been scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Cibao Fútbol Club stadium in Santiago, Dominican Republic, as part of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup semifinals within the Concacaf Champions League.

The postponement comes amid a Dominican government policy barring Haiti’s national football team and any other team from Haiti from playing in Dominican stadiums.

Dominican Minister of Sports and Recreation Kelvin Cruz reiterated on Sunday the position he first expressed on October 1, following incidents at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium during a match between the two nations’ national teams.

Cruz’s stance was later supported by Dominican President Luis Abinader, making it the official policy of the Dominican government.

José Francisco Deschamps, president of the Dominican Football Federation (Fedofútbol), said the federation is complying with the government’s decision to prohibit Haitian national and club teams from playing matches in the country’s sports facilities.

Deschamps said Fedofútbol respects the official position of the Ministry of Sports and that it is up to government authorities to take whatever measures they deem necessary.

With the second leg now off its original date, the semifinal tie remains awaiting a confirmed venue and kickoff time.
