ABOUT MIKEY
When Mikey took the Tune of the Crop back in 2004 with his debut hit, “Come Together” the people of Barbados new that something special was happening to soca music in Barbados. Mikey has not disappointed his fans since and is readily hailed as King Mikey with a whirlwind of Soca Monarch crowns being the norm, over the past 3 years.
With 2011 signaling his return to the throne with his hit track “Pavement Anticipation” securing him the Party Monarch title, 2012 would be the year for a new record to be set in Barbados. Between his two hit tracks “No Behaveya” and “We Loose” Mikey would take an unprecedented 4 crowns: Party Monarch, Sweet Soca, People’s Monarch and Tune of the Crop.
2013 was of course the year to “Enjoy Meh Life” and while Mikey would use this track to secure himself the People’s Monarch, it was the hit track “Roll It”, with his band Soka Kartel that would literally ignite the festival season and bring Mikey the Party Monarch and Road March honours once again.
With a discography that includes “Dat Time Again”, “Bashment Bacchanal”, “My Time”, “I In Dat”, “Riddum Sekshun”, “Jammin” and “De Whole Place Mash Up” to name a short few.
