The Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) continues to make significant progress with its efforts to make the Caribbean region’s presence felt internationally and take the message and talents of its people to the rest of the world.
Canada is the latest stop on CMC’s journey as CaribVision, the region’s premier cable channel launched on September 18, 2014 on Bell Fibe TV’s channel 658. CaribVision will showcase its unique blend of culturally rich entertaining, educational and enlightening programming to audiences in Quebec and Ontario.
“Our mission is to have a permanent presence on the global landscape in all forms of media. In addition to Caribbean people in the diaspora, any-one with an interest in our authentic Caribbean life-style can be watchful for more developments as CMC continues to widen its reach internationally,” said Lori Weatherhead, CMC’s Chief Operating Officer (Ag).
CaribVision, officially launched in 2006, is currently aired in over 22 Caribbean territories and in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Located in Barbados, CMC is a content provider for mass media globally with specific focus on the Caribbean region. In addition to being the distribution hub for regional mass media content, CMC has been consistently delivering relevant and timely print and broadcast news and general mass media programming since June 2000. CMC was formed through the merger of the commercial operations of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union and the Caribbean News Agency.
