2 min read

The African Caribbean Sustainability and Investment Summit (ACSIS) proudly reflects on its participation in ACTIF2025, held in Grenada from July 28 to 30, 2025. ACSIS Chairman David F. Roberts, accompanied by Deputy Chair Dr. Michelle Moseley, attended this landmark forum, which brought together leading figures from across the African and Caribbean regions to deepen economic, trade, and investment ties.

During a tightly packed but highly productive two-day visit, Mr. Roberts held strategic meetings with over a dozen high-level stakeholders, including: Rodinald Soomer (CEO, CARICOM Investment Fund), Dr. Didacus Jules (Director General, OECS), Thomas Anthony (CEO, IMA Grenada), Misha Lobban Clarke (Executive Director, Barbados Chamber of Commerce), Graham Clarke and Kyle Gittens of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Randall Dolland (Chairman, Pure Grenada), Ronald Theodore (CEO, Grenada Investment Development Corporation), Lena Marshall (CEO, African Caribbean Connection Consultancy), Hon. Senator Salim Rahaman, Dr. Graham Bright (Euro Exim Bank), Dr. Judlyn Telesford-Checkley, Dr. Marios Loukas (Dean, St. George’s University School of Medicine), and Professor Benedict Oramah (President and Chairman, Afreximbank), among others.

Chairman Roberts expressed his honour in personally meeting Prof. Oramah, whose visionary leadership at Afreximbank continues to reshape Africa-Caribbean relations. “The warm reception ACSIS received throughout the forum, especially in Grenada, has further cemented the importance and urgency of our work to unify and empower African and Caribbean communities across the global diaspora,” said Roberts.

ACTIF2025 provided fertile ground for ACSIS to reaffirm its commitment to investment matchmaking between qualified project developers and investors. Positive discussions reinforced confidence in ACSIS’s model, and several participants pledged support to help accelerate Africa-Caribbean entrepreneurial development.

Key themes from the forum included:

Africa-Caribbean Integration: Strong momentum is building toward the establishment of an Africa-Caribbean Free Trade Area, supported by concrete policy dialogue.

Sectoral Growth Opportunities: The summit identified tourism, logistics, agriculture, IT, energy, and creative industries as ripe for cross-regional collaboration.

Sustainability and Resilience: In light of global economic instability and climate crises like Hurricane Beryl, the need to invest in climate-smart infrastructure and renewable energy was strongly emphasized.

Inclusive Development: ACTIF2025 stressed the value of public-private partnerships and the inclusion of youth, women, and local communities in economic transformation.

Cultural Diplomacy and Sustainable Tourism: Grenada’s leadership in blending cultural heritage with eco-tourism demonstrated a model for future regional development.

Roberts who also met briefly with Grenada’s Prime Minister Hon. Dickon A. T. Mitchell noted: “The energy and enthusiasm at ACTIF2025 prove that our collective destiny lies in unity, resilience, and shared prosperity. The seeds planted here in Grenada must be nurtured—together we must ensure they bear fruit for generations to come.”

ACSIS looks forward to deepening partnerships formed during ACTIF2025 and sharing progress at ACTIF2026. With renewed commitment and growing momentum, ACSIS remains focused on empowering entrepreneurs, fostering sustainable investment, and supporting a thriving Pan-African and Caribbean future.
